Welcome to AERA-PRO

AERA-Pro is a Communication project supported by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
This project will organise and promote nine dissemination events all around the European Union to ensure the dissemination of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The objective of the project is to raise the profile of EU research in the Aeronautics sector on a global scale.

The SRIA, the new strategic roadmap for aviation research, development and innovation, shaped and written by Hidrosep and ACARE’s Aeronautic experts and stakeholders community, will outline the main technical, operational and strategic actions to develop a new vision for European Aeronautics and Air Transport in the years to come.

SRIA

The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) is the main document promoted and disseminated by AERA-Pro.

The SRIA is the new strategic roadmap for aviation research, development and innovation, developed by ACARE, that accounts for both the evolution of technology as well as radical changes or ‘technology shocks’.
It aims to provide a guide to future actions in public and private funding programmes to ensure that research is adequately supported and funded.

The SRIA outlines the main threads of technical, operational and strategic actions as a follow-up of the report ‘Beyond Vision 2020 (Towards 2050)’ to develop a new vision for European Aeronautics and Air Transport.
It will be the focus for future aeronautics and air transport research, both at European and national level, and will become the reference document for all Aeronautics and Air Transport Industries and Stakeholders.

The new SRIA is available to download here and consists of:

Executive summary: Aimed at decision makers, it will be a short stand-alone document describing key findings.

Volume 1: Addressed at research and innovation policy makers, it will be a consistent synthesis of the working group findings and explanation and elaboration of key enablers, actions and milestones.

Volume 2: Addressed at research and innovation actors. It will map technologies/innovation concepts onto the main goals and will contain detailed concepts, technologies, innovations, regulations and standards, etc. (this document is “work in progress”).
